TEX LA HOMA > UK based singer / composer / producer Matt Shaw records, in one of his guises, as Tex La Homa, a name lifted from Canadian author Douglas Couplands 1991 novel Generation X. He released his first album last year in the UK and Japan in slightly differing versions, both called Dazzle Me With Transience. The LP blends Shaws half-whispered vocals with polychrome distortion, heart-breakingly pretty melodies, lo-fi guitars and massive, low-frequency electronics to create a sequence of chilled-out, cinematic ballads. 'scarily
lovely and the only tunes released this week with the power to stop
time' > NME Tex's
first live date were supporting Bright Eyes and Her Space Holiday, and
has since developed into an intense live experience, ranging from intimate
electronica to Mogwai like sonic extremes. Live, Matt is also joined
by a collection of regular contributors including >
Griff / Moog, Rich / Scott
Drums, Dave / Gary
Bass / Keyboards and Rich / Guitar. TEX LA HOMA web updates > Check out exclusive unreleased tracks, free to download on the MP3 page.
